A Cozy Stay with an Unbeatable Location
I’m here to share great stories and separate the hidden gems from the noise. Some of the links in this article are affiliate links—if you book through them, it won’t cost you anything extra, but it helps give this project a little boost (kind of like buying it a coffee, but way more exciting)
Thanks for the support! Now, let’s dive into this incredible place…
A Stay in the Heart of Marrakech
I arrived at Riad Yamina 52 on a weekend full of energy—Morocco was playing against Portugal in the FIFA World Cup, and Marrakech was buzzing with excitement. There was no better place to soak up the electric atmosphere of the city that afternoon and evening. Unforgettable moments!
Riad Yamina 52 enjoys a prime location, just a 4-5 minute walk from the lively Jemaa el-Fna square. You can get there with a private transfer arranged by the riad or by following their clear directions upon booking. And if you prefer to navigate on your own, Google Maps works surprisingly well in the narrow streets leading to the riad—so no chance of getting lost.

An Elegant Riad with a Personal Touch
Giuliana is a warm, sophisticated, and kind-hearted Italian woman whom I met while curating a selection of riads for exclusive rentals in Marrakech. Riad Yamina 52 is made up of two interconnected properties, offering both individual stays and the option to rent the entire space—perfect for private events. With 10 beautifully designed rooms, accommodating up to 25 guests, the riad effortlessly blends intimacy with spaciousness.
Owned by an Italian company with over 20 years of expertise in high-end tourism, Riad Yamina 52 is a family endeavor. Brothers Filippo and Emanuele lead the business, while Giuliana, Emanuele’s wife, passionately manages this exquisite retreat in Marrakech.
A Hidden Oasis in the Heart of Marrakech
Amidst the lively streets and bustling souks of Marrakech’s Medina, Riad Yamina 52 stands as a serene retreat, offering total peace and relaxation. Behind an unassuming door marked only with the number “52,” the only sounds you’ll hear are the gentle songs of birds.
This beautifully restored Moroccan home showcases the artistry of local materials and age-old construction techniques. Tadelakt walls, intricate zellige tiles, and antique furnishings come together in a refined harmony. Every corner of the riad holds a quiet elegance, revealing unexpected details that invite you to pause and admire. Keep your eyes open—you’ll find beauty at every turn.
Timeless Elegance & Cozy Corners
Step inside Riad Yamina 52, and you’re welcomed by a striking blue tadelakt entrance, illuminated by a ceiling full of lanterns. To the left, a charming courtyard with a fountain connects to the dining area, while the heart of the riad—the main Yamina courtyard—boasts a beautiful pool framed by lush orange trees. It’s the perfect spot to start the day with a slow, indulgent breakfast.
Each suite carries its own character, blending comfort with Moroccan tradition. Beyond the rooms, inviting common spaces await—whether it’s the library with a crackling fireplace for chilly winter nights or the rooftop terrace with cozy sofas and loungers, ideal for sipping tea as the sun sets over the Medina.
A Personal Journey Behind Riad Yamina 52
Giuliana shared how her family had been visiting Marrakech for over 15 years, attending events tied to their tourism business. During their stays at various riads in the Medina, they met Mr. Moha, the current manager of Riad Yamina 52, when he was working at another hotel. They were so charmed by him that they followed his career closely whenever they returned.
One day, they stayed at Riad Yamina, which was then run by a lovely Moroccan-English woman named Yamina. Giuliana recalls how they instantly fell in love with the place, the people, and how they truly felt at home. This deep connection is the same feeling they now aim to share with their guests.
When Yamina retired in 2018, the family’s goal was to ensure the Riad’s legacy remained intact, entrusting it to people they trusted to preserve its unique identity and charm. They kept the name, adding only the house number—52—to mark the new chapter.
According to Giuliana, the true story of Riad Yamina 52 is about the people, especially the staff, who have been with them since they took over. Some have joined as the business grew, and they are the heart and soul of the Riad. Moha, Naima, Hafida, Mustapha, Najat, and Mehdi are all incredibly kind, always smiling, and dedicated to making your stay special.
A Suite Experience Like No Other
A special mention must go to the 10 uniquely designed suites at Riad Yamina 52.
I had the pleasure of staying in Zitouni, a spacious and luminous room with beautiful antique furniture, hand-painted headboards, and stunning floors. The room offered a breathtaking view of the pool courtyard from a balcony that felt almost royal—a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the vibrant medina, resting for a moment before heading out again.
As many of you already know, I have a deep passion for baths in any setting, and I must give a solid 10 to the shower here. I’m also completely in love with the tadelakt finishes, a hallmark of Moroccan interiors, and of course, the zellige tiles!
I’ve added a few pictures of some of the suites below for you to see.
As you can see, Riad Yamina 52 offers everything you need for a wonderful stay in Marrakech: warmth, attention to detail, an unbeatable location, and an authentic local atmosphere. I’d gladly return on my next trip to Marrakech, which will be soon. Highly recommended!
