A Journey Through Palaces, Deserts, and Culture
Rajasthan, the land of kings and maharajas, is a place where history, culture, and vibrant landscapes come together in a stunning display. Imagine winding your way through palaces, forts, and bustling bazaars, all while experiencing the warmth and color of one of India’s most iconic regions.
When I returned from a long journey to India, I was loaded with pashminas, beautiful shirts, colorful bedding, and silver. You’ll want to bring everything back with you. I also came back deeply moved, as my trip was much longer than this one, and I visited some places that left a lasting emotional and spiritual impact on me— but that’s a story for another post.
As for the palaces, forts, and vibrant colors of Rajasthan, not to mention its history of kings and maharajas— it’s truly an incredible experience. You won’t regret it.
The Wonders of Delhi and Agra
Your adventure begins in Delhi, a bustling metropolis of 20 million people, where every corner is alive with energy. From there, head to Agra to witness the grandeur of the Taj Mahal, the crown jewel of India’s monuments. Before the Taj Mahal, explore the magnificent Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, steeped in history and royal tales.
I have a hard time choosing photos of the Taj Mahal because they all seem stunning, and I could spend hours looking at them, just like I did when I visited. I was completely mesmerized by such a masterpiece. As you probably know, the monument changes with the light, looking pink in the morning, off-white in the afternoon, and golden when the moon shines. The sunsets are magical. No matter where you look, it’s a breathtaking sight that leaves you speechless. Here’s a small selection of photos, though I could share many more.

Exploring Chand Baori: The Hidden Stepwell
On the third day, en route to Jaipur, you’ll visit Chand Baori in Abhaneri, near Jaipur. The world of stepwells, or ‘baoris’ as they’re called in India, deserves a whole post of its own. I previously shared my favorite ones on Instagram, and in this trip, you’ll experience the one shown in these photos.

Delhi: A Journey Through Time and Contrasts
On day eight, you’ll head to Delhi, a city of contrasts between the old and new. Delhi’s vibrant streets, bustling markets, and historical landmarks will leave you awe-struck. If you wish, you can enjoy a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the heart of the Old City, or visit the iconic Jama Masjid mosque. The city’s imperial legacy is visible in RajPath, home to the Presidential Palace, the India Gate, and Parliament. Delhi is a vast metropolis, and while you can explore on your own, I highly recommend letting your guide—who is not only the owner of the agency but also an incredible local—take you through its most memorable spots. By the end of this journey, you’ll have experienced the best of this incredible city. The population of Delhi reached 27 million in 2021, so there’s much to discover. Below, some photos to give you a glimpse of what’s to come.
