I visited Koh Tao in the summer of 2025, and it instantly became my favorite island in the Gulf of Thailand. Even if you don’t set foot underwater — though it’s a diver’s paradise — the island is pure bliss: rugged cliffs, crystal-clear bays, and sunsets that stop you in your tracks. There’s an energy here — relaxed yet magnetic — that makes Koh Tao feel both intimate and unforgettable.
